COZY CREEK PRIMITIVES

I love creating Primitive & Folkart dolls and I incorporate that love into each and every handmade item I create. I simply love every minute of it! Here in my little home-based shop I value quality over quantity. I take my time and put lots of attention to detail into every single original One-Of-A-Kind piece of art I create, along with imagination, uniqueness and whimsy! I don't have anyone working for me. I create each and every doll, every stitch, every detail from start to finish by myself. When you add one of my items to your home you can be assured that it was completely handcrafted by me and only me. I use only high quality materials to create my art. I make sure that my items are solid, sturdy and well constructed. I realize that my items aren't just a decoration for one season, or one holiday. I know they will be brought out year after year, or on display every day of the year. Some will be given to loved ones and special friends as gifts or even handed down to children and grandchildren... they become part of a family and a home so I make sure each one is very special. I use only non-toxic materials in the creation of my art and nothing that I use has a chemical odor. The only scent my dolls will have are the wonderful, pleasant, heart-warming smells of coffee, tea, cinnamon and vanilla. I use hypoallergenic stuffing and my items are created in a completely smoke free and clean environment. Of course: Every piece of art I create has to first receive Scampers "Kitten Paw Print of Approval" before it enters my shop! Scamper is one of our cats, and he loves to hang out on my work table to supervise and help with everything I do! Every piece of art is signed and dated by me, and stamped with a little paw print. I enjoy knowing that the items I create with my whole heart, here in my home surrounded by the love of my family, will be treasured by my customers as a part of their own homes and families! God Bless, Wendy Marro

Handmade Primitive Folk Art Snowman Mitten 'Baby Blizzard' OOAK Doll

"Baby Blizzard" One Of A Kind Snowgirl Mitten
Available in my ETSY SHOP!~ https://www.etsy.com/shop/CozyCreekPrimitives

Baby Blizzard came to life early January 2018 on the same day we were getting a real blizzard! The weather forecast had predicted 'maybe' up to 3" of snow only a few days prior. The day before it turned into a Blizzard 'watch'.. then a warning.. then a full on blizzard with 50+mph wind gusts and 12 hours of constant heavy snow and heacy drifting which dumped 16-18" of snow on us! We haven't had a good old fashioned blizzard in a while so it was the perfect inspiration for me to create 'Baby Blizzard"!!

Snowgirl was created using heavy muslin. She has been stained, painted and aged. She has tiny black bead eyes with some light blue shading, a little dried carrot nose and rosy cheeks She wears a long flannel cap in a whimsical wintery snowflake print of light blue, white, gold and silver. Her cap is trimmed in fur and has a rusty bell on the end. She wears a matching flannel scarf pinned with an itty bitty rusty bell.

Baby Blizzard peeks out of a flannel mitten with a whimsical winter print of snowmen, snowflakes, ice skates and mittens. The top is trimmed in fur. The mitten is packed very full with lots of various snowy pines and wintery stems including a fluffy cotton pod.

She's also surrounded by fluffy 'snow' and poked into the mitten amongst the snowy pines and wintery stems are wood sticks wrapped in white chenille stems with various whimsical, glittery snowflakes on top! There are also smaller snowflakes ( in various different sizes) attached throughout the wintery stems and some curly white chenille stems poking out here and there for added whimsy.

In front of Baby Blizzard sits a tiny champagne colored bottle brush tree.
Pinned to the mitten is a beautiful large white glittery snowflake and a rusty bell.

The mitten has a loop on the back so it's ready for hanging, or it can be propped up to sit on a bench, table, chair, shelf or any nook that needs a little color, whimsy or snowgirl!

Approx 16"-18" from the bottom of the mitten to the tips of the snowy pines.

Handmade Primitive Country "Love To Keep Me Warm" Valentine Snowman Box With Tree

Valentines Day is just a little over a month away! It's been so cold here in Central NJ lately with all the frigid below zero temps we've been having these last few weeks, that I even want my snowmen to be warm LOL

"Love To Keep Me Warm" One Of A Kind (OOAK) Valentine Snowman Box With Tree
Available in my ETSY SHOP!

Snowman was created using heavy muslin. He has been stained, painted and 'aged'. He has little black bead eyes. a tiny dried carrot nose and rosy cheeks. He wears a little red patchwork print scarf pinned with an itty bitty rusty bell.

Snowman sits in a wood box that I painted black and distressed a bit to look a little worn. Inside sits an artificial tree decorated in a homespun, cozy Valentines theme. The tree has been accented with some snowy branches and strung with warm white electric mini lights and bright red raffia garland. Throughout the tree are little striped and checkered hand cut fabric hearts in shades of forest green, dark blue, tan and red. In the middle of each heart is a tiny rusty bell. Poked in throughout the tree are burgundy pip berries and a rusty prim star adorns the top.

Snowman sits in a nest of pine boughs and berries in the middle of handmade heart pillows matching the little fabric ones on the tree. Stripes and checks in forest green, dark blue, tan and red. Each heart pillow has a rusty bell in the center.

Snowman sits in the middle... surrounded by love.. to keep him warm.

Box is approx 11.5" X 4" and tree stands approx 14" tall
